The panel majority opinion in Defense Distributed v. Bruck presents a rare — indeed, near-singular — grant of mandamus relief as to a transfer of venue (combined with a ruling about severance). The business at issue involves the growing, and controversial, field of creating firearms with 3-D printers. A dissent made a number of objections, substantive and procedural.
